Ok, so last weekend we went to Prague, as previously mentioned. I know, I have to post about that. Prague is an amazing city... I'd go back there in a second. We both would.
This weekend we went to Berlin for the day. Thankfully, only a day. Berlin is a crowded, dark, depressing city that no joke smells like either sewage, cigarette smoke, or both. Usually both. Really gross. Yes, there is a lot of history there, and many sights to see. However, it's all bad history, and the city is a confusing mess of plazas, intersections, and major train stations that aren't on any maps.
Ugh, just a bad experience. We wanted our train to leave far earlier than it did, so we ended up lounging around in the train station for an hour and a half. So all of you who said it was a great city and that on a trip to Germany, "it cannot be missed"? Yeah, let's step outside for a minute.
We're flying back to the states tomorrow, so there should be a large post update on Monday or so, covering Prague, my last week here (guest HPOTD from T), and unfortunately, Berlin. After that, who knows... I'm done travelling until December (Calgary!) for work, at least... there's always trips to Los Angeles and Boston, I suppose. I'm open to suggestions about what this blog should become until then, if anything. Please post your thoughts... maybe I'll have a little contest or something. You can win my receipts from Berlin! Cafeful though, they probably smell...
Man, that city sucked.
